The 2015 Tensas Academy Track Team has shown us once again that they are a "Small but Mighty" group of athletes. They had a great showing at the South State Track Meet on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The Relay Team of Briana Davis, Addison Capdepon, Lauren Matthews and Annabelle Paxton placed 4th in the 100 meter Relay. Annabelle Paxton placed 2nd in the 800m run and Efrain Pena placed 4th in the 2 mile run. All of the runners will advance to the MAIS State Track Meet on Saturday, May 2 in Jackson, MS. Tensas Academy is very proud of all the Track Team members. They won multiple ribbons in the various track meets. Good job athletes. ![]() Halftime festivities of the football game between Tensas Academy and Northeast Baptist at Farrel Keahey Stadium on August 22 saw the field designated as an LSU AgCenter Field of Excellence football field and the Louisiana Turfgrass Association’s 2014 High School Football Field of the Year under the direction of Dennis Burns, Tensas Parish County Agent and Dr. Donnie Miller of the LSU AgCenter. The LSU AgCenter’s Field of Excellence Program assists Louisiana high schools in adopting practices that make football fields safety and increase their quality and playability. Tensas Academy is one of only five fields in the state to achieve the Field of Excellence honor this year and was voted as the Football Field of the Year by the Louisiana Turfgrass Association. On hand to make the presentation, which included a $500.00 award, to Mr. Dale Vinson, President of the Tensas Athletic Association, were Mr. Aaron Wade, President of the Louisiana Turfgrass Association, and Dr. Donnie Miller of the LSU AgCenter. Contact your local parish LSU AgCenter Cooperative Extension office for more information regarding the program. ![]() Tensas Academy Chiefs will take on the Briarfield Rebels 7:00 pm tonight at the Farrell Keahey Stadium in St. Joseph, LA. Come out and support these athletes. Tensas Academy's very own Little Cheerleaders will be preforming during halftime. You certainly don't want to miss this entertaining halftime show. TAA will be grilling up burgers, hotdogs and other treats in the concession stand. So come out and let TAA do the cooking while the students do the entertaining. This event serves as the only fundraiser for Tensas Academy Athletic Association. When a student or parent asks you to purchase a ticket for a steak supper you are helping to support a wonderful character building program. TAA supports over 18 Varsity & JV teams, a conditioning program for students in grades 6-12 addition and helping with our growing Pee Wee programs.
