Dear TA Chief Families,

I am so excited to welcome you back to school for the 2023-2024 school year! I know it's been a long summer, but I can't wait to see your children's smiling faces again.
As we get started, I wanted to take a moment to remind you of a few things:

• I encourage you to encourage your child to be involved in something, whether it's a sport, club, or other extracurricular activity. These experiences will help them develop important social skills and teamwork abilities that will stay with them long after they leave TA.
• As a parent or guardian, please be involved in your child's school life. Come to their games, performances, and other activities. Let them know that you're there to support them.
• This year, we are introducing a new service points program. Families will need to earn a certain number of service points each year in order to participate in certain activities. More information will be sent home with your child in the handbook.
• I know that change can be difficult, but I'm asking for your patience and understanding as we implement some new things this year. We are always striving to improve our school, and we believe that these changes will make TA even better.

I am so proud to be a part of this amazing school community. Thank you for your continued support.
Here is a schedule of events for the first day of school:

• Breakfast will be served from 7:30-7:45 AM for grades 1-12.
• Prayer around the flagpole will begin at 7:45 AM.
• Grades 6-12 will have an assembly immediately following prayer.
• All students will report to their first period class at 8:30 AM.
  
  

The Back to School Bash will begin after lunch at 12:30 PM. There will be water slides, games, and other fun activities for all grades. Please send your child with a towel and appropriate swimwear or clothing. There will also be Kona Ice, so please bring money for that.

Hello to Parents, Guardians, and Awesome Students,

Hope you're having a great summer break! We've got some news about when school will start again at Tensas Academy, and we want to make sure you know what's happening. We're making a little change to the plan, and we want to explain why.

Instead of school starting on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, like we said before, we're going to start on Monday, August 21, 2023. We know this might surprise you, so let's talk about why we're doing this.

Some things happened that we didn't expect, and they're making us need a bit more time to get everything ready for school. Our teachers and staff are going to be at Tensas Academy from Monday, August 14th, to Friday, August 18th, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. During these days, parents can come to the school to meet the teachers and pick up school stuff for elementary students. This is a great chance to say hello to the teachers and get the things you'll need for the school year.

We're also moving our fun BACK TO SCHOOL BASH to Monday, August 21, 2023. On that day, we'll have classes in the morning, and then in the afternoon from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we'll have water slides and cool activities for all grades (PK3-12). Parents, you're invited to come to the Back To School Bash too. It's going to be a lot of fun!

Here's something important: We need you to do something during this extra time. Please finish all the paperwork and stuff you need to do to register and enroll for school. You'll do this online using FACTS.
We have to finish this before we can decide which classes your kids will be in. If you're not sure what to do, you can call the office and ask for Lori. She's here to help you.

We're really sorry if this change causes any problems. We're doing this so we can be super ready for all the grades and make sure everything goes smoothly. If you have any questions, please get in touch with the office.
